What players think
The recurring themes across 206 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The graphics are stylish and gritty, and the whole immersive atmosphere of an alien invasion is probably the best part of the game.
I assume this is due to the game buffering the different box kicking sound effects the first time they are played, but it has ruined many runs for me, especially during co-op.
It's not about the gameplay; the gameplay is fine, and always has been.
Enhanced graphics (seriously, who knew that what started as a humble flash game would allow you to go up to 8x anti-aliasing), responsive control(s), touchscreen and controller support, multiplayer and the selection of levels to play and music help make this definitely worth playing if you're a fan of the original and even if you're not.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 4 more themes were each raised by fewer than 5 sampled reviews and are not shown.
