What players think
The recurring themes across 112 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Gameplay: 9/10 While the game does instruct you pretty clearly in most cases, I stumbled for a second when I was instructed to press Select to access the radio -- not realizing I needed to first pull up the inventory menu to do so.
If the player does not know where to go, they could either press a button somewhere (I saw keybinds for "Menu 1" and "Menu 2" but so far have not found a use for them) and either a textbox will appear with a more direct hint like, "You've acquired the Level 2 key; keep an eye out for areas locked behind Level 2 doors where you couldn't access before in [area name]," or something like that; or, being given the ability to scroll through the frequencies of the Radio in order to call the other characters, perhaps implement a hint channel announced outside of the game or outside the lore (or maybe even in lore, like recalling a beginner's manual stating a Radio frequency providing 'round the clock information for Cosmobreeders or something), that way it would make using the Radio a bit more interesting less than tedious when actually trying to use it only to receive practically useless information.]]
Curiously, developers recommend the use of gamepad, but having tried both I’ve found keyboard controls to be easier for me.
Graphics have a nice retro feel to it and the CRT screen wrap effect is pretty neat.
• Music and sound design in general are perfectly serviceable.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
