What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
To me it's the former, as I very much appreciate more challenge in these types of games since so many of them are easily solved by way of overt meta progression or outright broken builds.
Good Visuals
And because it has a nice balance to the in-run progression and rogue-like play - this a game that is easy to come back to and just play a run (no grand story to remember, no advanced combo move system to remember, plenty of imperfect builds that are good enough to work, plenty of variety).
The game recommends using a controller, and this is how I play.
- Music/Sound effects: 7 out of 10 Sound effects where good however the music was nothing special which makes it lacking to me.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
