What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
that said, this game is almost cynical in its blatant balatro-biting while failing to analyze most of the intelligent design of balatro and being even a quarter as good. this game desperately needs to listen to more of balatro's ideas to be worth coming back to. it has less going on - and for a game to be balatro-priced with somehow much less polish, mechanics, replayability, and innovations than balatro did at launch (and be based on an infinitely more complex and intellect-demanding base game like chess) comes across as a bit tone-deaf.
For those of you who like comparing games, it's definitely a lot more like Balatro than Passant in terms of graphics and how the roguelike elements play out.
I can also confirm that the "Playable" status for Steam Deck is spot on.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 4 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
