What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
It really expands on the first one adding new game mechanics over the course of your playthrough, like blue light, character swapping, and a couple of fun mini-games that are all well integrated into the story.
The new gameplay elements are fun additions in my opinion and keeps the game from being a repeat of the first game through and through.
I love the over the top gore of these games and how the pixel art style makes it easier to stomach.
super short game, only 20 levels, each of which are pretty short in and of themselves. if you liked the first game you'll probably like this. still loads of super creative, super gory, super fun kills, plus way more in terms of lore. you play as three different characters this time around instead of just john and the detective, so there's definitely more variety, although it does feel like it pulls away from the slasher flick vibe you get from playing mostly john. also, the sound effects are a bit meh sometimes, it can pull away from the game a little, but this is a micro indie dev that pulled them from a website, so i cant complain much. anyways, loads of fun, definitely recommend, even if you won't get loads of playtime out of it
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No themes split opinion in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
