What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Lightning Returns or FFXIII-3, has probably one of the best endings to a Final Fantasy ever and was the perfect way to finish off the 13 trilogy, the ending is beautiful.
All core gameplay remains the same, and Square Enix has rather generously given access to all DLC except the Aerith set.
- Graphics hold up well even 10+ years after launch.
Easily one of my all time favourite Final Fantasies out there, housing some of my most beloved FF characters, one of my favourite FF protagonists to date (seriously Lightning is just chefs kiss), a great OST, combat system and gameplay loop and a really solid story arc as well which of course is a continuation of FFXIII and FFXIII-2.
- Pretty well-optimized.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
