I also really appreciate how the game lets you choose the difficulty you desire very subtly: you can aim just to get through the puzzles, but if you want more challenge you can choose to search for hidden gems or - hardest of them all - try to complete the puzzles with the least moves possible.
The audio design further elevates the experience through a beautiful soundtrack composed by Steven Cravis.
Quell is a thoughtfully crafted puzzle game that demonstrates how elegant design and a calming atmosphere can leave a lasting impression without relying on flashy visuals or intense action.
The overall design and style of the game itself both also create a very cozy atmosphere, which adds some points for the replayability.
Beyond its puzzle mechanics, Quell also tells a heartfelt story through understated environmental storytelling.
