It's certainly possible that this is not a common thing, and it was the easiest difficulty (The tutorial started a run on the easiest difficulty for me), so I won't give a full judgement on how easy a god run is, though it doesn't seem that hard once you get past the midgame.
It has tons of unlockable items, potions, decks, and more that impact gameplay in fun ways.
