The gameplay centers on a narrative-driven campaign where players assume the role of a survivor trying to make sense of the outbreak while searching for other survivors.
The campaign offered a decent variety of environments and scenarios, and the co-op mode was a fantastic way to experience the apocalypse with friends.
Multiplayer is a nice bonus, as all the campaigns and the horde modes are playable single-player or cooperatively with a friend.
The protagonist was likeable and you never even learn his name or see his face, the human element was present in the writing, the zombies weren't too bad (though a little janky sometimes) and were actually kinda scary sometimes, the dark areas were well done, the guns were fun to use, the voice acting was great, and the music was really good.
