i understand that this is a remake of a flash game, which im usually all for. i love that vibe for a game and have had fun with similar stuff in the past, i love just jumping into flashpoint and playing some random garbage. while this game does retain that vibe, it doesn't actively improve on its gameplay enough to warrant a steam remake if you ask me. whereas a similar situation of a game i played, super fancy pants adventure, felt worthwhile by being extremely fun to play thanks to its very smooth controls, which armed with wings rearmed is lacking.
what i expected was a flashy 2D beat-em-up taking full advantage of its minimalist art style with smooth and flashy movement. what i GOT was a 2D beat-em-up puzzle platformer(?)
The sound design is nice.
so i had to do another play through unlocking more things, i had to keep playing through more and more. and i played it late at night, and next thing i know it's almost 1am and i'm not wanting to put down the controller. however i don't know how much replayibility it has being you have to keep replaying the exact same thing every time. i personally think the game could have alot more playibility if they made it kinda rouge like. or some what random if nothing else.
-Being able to swap color schemes for the entire game (except the menu) is a very nice addition and some options are bound to ignite a bit of nostalgia for older titles
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
