Quartermain and the Cult of Cthulhu

Some weapons are best suited against specific foes, but all are useful with none feeling noticeably underwhelming.

To be more positive the character design is pretty fantastic, given greater appreciation thanks to the dialogue mechanic with NPCs, complete with amateur but charming voice acting.

While the game doesn't entirely push the EFPSE to it's absolute limits, the structure of the campaign and the gameplay itself is so standout from the other DOSman Games EFPSE games it has to be praised.

It delivers fast-paced action, memorable enemy variety, and a playful collision of pulp adventure and Lovecraftian horror that sets it apart within the crowded retro FPS space.

The story and humor are campy but that fits well in the setting.

The weapon and enemy roster are well thought out, the secrets are fun to find, the difficulty isn't too easy or too hard, and after beating the game I had enjoyed myself enough that I went back in using a guide to collect all the remaining treasures I had missed.
