Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter

TLDR highly recommended classic-modern turn based JRPG with great writing, characters, cutscenes, and combat system.

The action combat system needs to stun an enemy and gain an advantage in the turn-based strategy, and that's why the combat is beautiful and those two fighting types complement each other very well.

The battle system just keeps reminding me of Grandia 3, to which it is strikingly similar in presentation and mechanics - a huge plus, being one of the best JRPG battle systems ever made.

The most important thing is that I never get tired of it, and I liked listening to the game soundtrack playlist even outside the game.

Speaking of which, I should mention I liked the art style too, though from what I've seen, the original game looks a bit more charming to me.

There are a few really tricky encounters that benefit from well-thought out builds, status prevention, weakness exploitation, debuffing and crowd control, even on Normal difficulty, which was my setting.
