Outcast 1.1

It is an open world game built with care, an open world where you do not chase towers or little pictographs on a map, the characters are very cheesy but they have personality, the story is not unique but it leaves you smiling to the end.

In a time where open world games were an exception, Outcast was an extraordinary game.

Overall the game has a great aesthetic if you can get over its dated graphics.

plus it has a phenomenal soundtrack, which creates precisely defined (and therefore very dense) atmospheres for each of the different and unique enviroments (the OST was performed by the moscow symphony orchestra).

The Moscow Symphonic Orchestra did it's job well (the choir in intro is exceptional, Talanzaar's oriental theme is well made, it makes you feel you are an Arabian Knight etc.) and contributes a lot to the tension during combat or the atmosphere while you are running around trying to find the Mons.

The controls are responsive across both keyboard/mouse and gamepad setups, although a bit of stiffness can occasionally show through, particularly when navigating tight spaces.
