The plot is a very solid mix of slice-of-life sensibilities, with a Dragon Quest-esque spirit of adventure, with plenty of charming characters and character interactions that sees our main cast grow as characters and young adults as they work to reach their goals; both on an individual, character level, and in the broader scope of the game's narrative.

Atelier Sophie is a much older game and has full English voice acting which is awesome... so I don't know why they went away from it?
