I love the aesthetic and the gameplay is smooth, with decent progression between runs in the forms of character unlocks, new relics (read: equipment with strong bonuses) and meta attributes to grind currency for.

It's simple, the shard system is ok, and there is a good story with so much lore to get into.

I own vampire survivors but didn't like it & couldn't get into it, however shard squad very much held my attention, has difficulty settings so it can be a chill game or quite chaotic, plenty of Shards to choose from (more to come)

There are quite a few things I really enjoy about it like the art style, playable characters (shards), concepts for a lot of the relics, implementation of some of the meta upgrades, different biomes/maps, boss concepts.
