I just realized I had never submitted a review, and decided to buy the (exceptionally well priced) DLC, which adds some additional characters and relics.
I love the aesthetic and the gameplay is smooth, with decent progression between runs in the forms of character unlocks, new relics (read: equipment with strong bonuses) and meta attributes to grind currency for.
To keep this simple its just a fun game, great graphic style, great sprites, i actually prefer this style these days over hyper realistic graphics, indie games are really carrying the industry especially these days and this game is an example of that, i couldn't name the last AAA game i played,,, because indies such as shard squad are just more entertaining (no social agenda) jus fun & thats exactly what i look for in my entertainment, big surprise huh,

I am a big fan of this genre of games, especially if they are focused on multiplayer.
the title fits perfectly for dlc, a few free updates few free shards/stages but from then on ya could release more shards/stages every couple of months dependent on dev time, but overall i think its one of the better in the genre + it fits perfectly for a Rog Ally/Steam deck,
