Insanity's Blade

The story is ok, the characters are not half bad, gameplay brings back memories of good old times, mixing platforming fun with a non stop action and the soundtrack is really awesome.

Speaking of story - the game's story is based on the developers' graphic novel/webcomic and does a surprisingly good job of delivering a solid story for being told mostly in pre-level in-engine scenes.

It seems that having the benefit of a modern processor and GPU allows the overall speed of the given effects and the complexity of the graphics to be a significant improvement over past console games even if the developer here has nailed the Retro vibe.

It has a really classic feel, providing instant nostalgia with the old-school basic gameplay of spamming attacks and basic platforming, accompanied by some really nice arcade music and sound effects; but it's not as enjoyable as it could be, simply because it's lacking a lot of polish.

With local co-op and multiple difficulties, aside from just being easy to pick up and play, I could see a decent amount of replay value here for people really into those old arcade games.
