What is the weirdest thing is that it runs way better on Steam Deck, I didn't even need to fiddle with anything to have it working.

As a long long die hard fans of the sims 1 complete collection , been play this game 25 years already none stop from 2000, since she can run on AMD CPU or Graphic card with linux pop os proton experimental , so i recommend this game for linux user and gamer too, happy simming 1 . (i buy the sims 1 legacy on steam autumn sales ) (edit)
