What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
For one, you have 3 different main characters all with extremely good and fun movesets that all have their nice little pieces of skill expression in each of them.
If you like playing zoners in a fighting game you might like the back and forth push pull style gameplay that they have of keeping demons outside of melee range so you can do your own sorta thing but personally its not for me and i find it repetitive and boring.
The visuals still hold up well, the soundtrack fits the action perfectly, but unfortunately, the bosses are not as challenging.
And one final thing I want to mention is how amazing the soundtrack is.. especially the Prologue, Credits, and statue of divinity theme :-).
Dante can now switch styles on the fly without having to open the menu like in DMC3, which really elevates the number of Super Sexy Stylish combos you can pull off.
To fix this go to the game's folder and change the .exe properties to disable full-screen optimization.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
