The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Fun weapon combos, no mechanic feels badly designed (e.g of bad design is stun), good optimization except on some maps (guess it's important to mention because this is an idie game?), well done tutorial among community-made tutorials apearing in-game, fast-paced indeed, intese feeling.
Reflex has a beautifuly simple art style, with just the right amount of color and flair to keep you hooked.
It boasts 10 unique weapons which all handle exceptionally well, and a large variety of maps to play in.
You can create a party (like in Rocket League) to play with friends, the map making looks great, and the training map is useful for adapting to Reflex and improving one’s movement.
I was drawn to the combination of relatively straightforward mechanics and a very high skill ceiling, along with the addictive movement system; at the time, I saw it as Quake Live but with better movement.
Also, since there aren't many textures going on, the framerate is lightning fast (I get an ave 130fps on an RX470 on 1440/High :) ).
