Also, the permanent upgrades are plentiful, are actually useful, and a few even add new mechanics.

Combat flow feels a lot similar to games like Nier: Automata which were incredibly fun to play in their own right.

The first few bosses are fairly easy, but then later the difficulty goes much higher and the fights become a lot more complex, cool, and properly challenging.

Playable characters in particular would be very lucrative for obvious reasons but more bosses and skills for existing characters should get looked into as well.

Lastly with the positives, as is expected of Touhou, the soundtrack is pretty good (even if I'm not into all of the genres, it's nice that the Dev tried to vary it a little) and the combat effects are very fitting.

The visuals are also a breath of fresh air and it's impressive that the models look as good as they do because more often than not that's hard to pull off with Touhou when you try going the 3D route.
