What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The story... is pretty good actually, let's be frank, I don't think many of us picked up this game because we were eager to see what bubsy and his crew were up to, but nonetheless they all are pretty fun to watch and interact with each other,
The little gimmicks they introduce, as well as the ramping skill checks, do make each new level feel fresh when you get to them and the actual gameplay, I feel, is well paced when you're not rushing them.
It's made competently, has a lot of love pouring out of every orifice, the soundtrack is solid, the voice-acting is cheesy but it fits the tone of the game, the writing can be a bit mean-spirited towards Bubsy at times but it all makes sense.
The settings customization is exceptional, allowing you to customize your controls, inputs, field of view, graphics, and for those IGN reviewers out there that cannot tolerate anthropomorphic animals talking without calling them annoying and dumb for no special reason, you have the ability to skip almost every cutscenes (even being a toggle in the settings themselves) and turn up or down Bubsy's chatter frequency!
Like a worn out, middle-aged rockstar going from trying too hard to recapture his youth to leaning into the self-awareness, chilling out and learning to just enjoy life itself.
It's kinda finicky, but a huge upgrade which allows me to see what the designers were actually going for, unbogged down by the limitations of the earliest PlayStation controller.

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
