LEGO® Indiana Jones™: The Original Adventures

The best part about this game is the exploration: it is enjoyable to see the designers’ take on the Indiana Jones films, and every map that you finish unlocks a ‘free play’ mode, wherein you can replay it with any characters you have, all of whom have their special abilities, whether it be fixing machinery, crawling into small spaces, shrieking to break glass, and so on.

Yes, free play mode does kinda make this meaningless since you can play as characters who have those tools and unbreakable versions of those weapons by default, including custom characters, but in the main story mode it’s still cool.

Despite the low resolutions, in terms of variety there is a good amount of detail in the cities and countrysides and whatnot with every area resembling something from the films, so I would never call the graphics ‘hideous’ even if they do feel a little dated now.

The game is easy, even supports a co-op mode to play with a friend (over local play, online play is not supported sadly).

If you were expecting some complicated combat, you’ll be disappointed, but as far as simplicity goes it works mostly well.

Complementing this is a soundtrack that draws from the iconic Indiana Jones score, reinforcing the sense of adventure and tying the experience back to its cinematic roots.
