What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The gameplay is comparable to (as it is based on a mod of Doom after all): fast-paced, messy and lots of items like health, armor, weapons, ammunition, powerups, collectibles and weapon upgrades.
I plan to play it more as it's basically a mix of Serious Sam/Painkiller meets Cry of Fear but with a lot of limitations and no story driven gameplay, it's one of the few scary-ish co-op games and it's always fun to hear your friend/sibling screaming when they get cornered by a couple of larger enemies or clowns when they decided to run off without saying a word.
The equipment you get is a very wide range of improvements and alterations of weapons in the game.
Graphics are nice but it's seemingly too dark even with the gamma blasted all the way up.
While solo play emphasizes isolation and dread, multiplayer introduces a sense of camaraderie that balances the game’s oppressive tone without diluting its challenge.
Nice mix of rouge-lite and fps with a level-system based around equipment (trinkets).
