Five Nights at Freddy's

I felt like the simplicity of the mechanics gave me a lot of room for every little aspect of the experience to get absorbed properly, resulting in the frantic flipping of cameras and general wasting of power that comes with that expertly crafted early night panic, so even the first parts of the game involve close calls with resource management for first playthroughs.

The high quality sound design, dark lighting, cramped setting and random events create a very unnerving atmosphere that still creeped me out at times in spite of knowing most of this game's tricks and details.

but what really carries this game isn't the difficulty or the jumpscares or the gameplay, it's the lore. fnaf 1 was the start of an iconic franchise in horror games history.

The atmosphere is amazing with great visuals and easter eggs, and it completely sets the tone right of the bat.

When it comes to the characters, the lore, and the story, they are fantastic and very creative.
