The characters have depth, they have difficulties and flaws, but you can tell the writer absolutely loves them, which makes for delightful dialogue, and gives the writing a tenderness fit to explore serious themes like trauma.

The gameplay is tight, the game gives you all the tools you need to make fun and interesting synergies in combat, and then keeps handing you new ones that turn your strategies on their head (looking at you, Incant Dusk!) The open world makes good use of puzzles to aid in it's narrative progression through the world.
