What players think
The recurring themes across 95 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
- Excellent story - It's obvious the developer has done their research and thoroughly enjoys the history of the American West, and that shines through in the game's story.
- Perfect 16 bit graphics - Top-knotch sprite design, and high quality maps and scenes make this game incredibly immersive.
- Awesome soundtrack - Jake Kaufman's master touch on display here (Also composed Shovel Knight).
I will start off by saying that I enjoy the story and the gameplay.
The game boasts a 4 person party and even highlights co-op, but this far into the game and there was still no party.
1) Local Multiplayer is something that is lacking in a lot of new games, I feel that Dave definitely knew what he was doing not just in getting a game to function for multiple people but also to have it flow well.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
