After bashing my head against some bullet-hell in Hades 2 recently, Day of the Shell: Prologue offered the perfect respite—a brilliant hybrid between X-COM's tactical depth and Hades' addictive roguelike progression.

The visuals are stunning, with gorgeous Mediterranean vibes that evolve as you progress through the map.

Story and characters
Players who bring up Story and characters mostly praise it.
The art style is perfect for this story, I've played similar games like The Last Spell which is gritty and dark but the pleasant art style here and the not so daunting looking enemies helped keep it feeling chilled and fun, danger zones are very clear, the controls and animations felt nice, the feature of being able to have the enemies hit each other was also a pleasant surprise which made the game even more fun as we tried to turn enemy on enemy.
