Pedigree: The game’s most striking trait is its refreshed legacy, unlike many indie shmups that merely mimic the past, this features the return of the Brimble Brothers (Allister and Chris) for the soundtrack, ensuring the iconic Amiga audio DNA remained intact... not to mention major gameplay and graphics tweaks.

As for playability, the new standard game modes expand the original game's formula significantly, making it a more rounded and fun experience, with increased accessibility to those of us who are now ageing and no longer have the reflexes of a 15 year old, whilst the 1992 mode provides a good hardcore experience that is very much in line with the original's difficulty.

The graphics, levels, game play, sound, music and menus all either borrow a lot directly from the original game or are inspired by it, which is a good thing and I think Amiga fans will be pleased.
