What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
NORSE offers a nice mix of turn-based tactical combat, simple but motivating settlement management and a well-written story with fantastically voiced characters.
There are some cool mechanics like higher ground offering some combat bonus, being able to push enemies into each other, causing enemies to cripple and fall.
Actually played over 21 hours now, loving the game, turn based combat, settlement planning/building, great story and setting and fantastic music by Galdercraft.
The game uses UE5 and raytracing which is noticeable with lighting, reflections and how nice they made the water look.
It really is top tier script writing and the voice acting is fantastic.
-Solid character design: Every character felt like some classic Norse archetype, and for the most part, with enough unique personality to keep me engaged.
