Greater focus on story and characters, smoother combat and more options, more varied locations, longer scenario, multiple playable characters, high replay value, and most importantly, chain issen.
Soundtrack is now uncompressed and audio mixing has been improved in both gameplay and cutscenes (you can also listen to the entire soundtrack in the gallery)
Character model textures have been improved
Both FMVs and cutscenes now fill the screen on a 16:9 monitor with very minor cropping, rather than using black borders (this carries over when playing in 4:3), and subtitles are centered rather than pushed to the left side of the screen
This is an amazing remaster done by Capcom, finally this gem of a game isn't locked to the PS2 anymore and can be fully appreciated with new HD textures and upscaled backgrounds that look stunning compared to the muddy backgrounds on emulator, the new controller bindings are such a godsend in the quality of life department it makes the game way more enjoyable to playthrough.
The remaster improves many things, including higher-resolution backgrounds, modern controls, extra mini-games and Steam Deck support.
