FATE: The Traitor Soul

It's not going to blow you away with story or cutting-edge graphics, but if you grew up with this on WildTangent or just want a relaxed hack-and-slash with genuine charm and near-infinite replayability, this is the one to get.

It is an overall fun "casual" game where go doing quests in dungeons and the game offers a good sense of progression for either melee or magic builds (tons of weapons, armors, spells, accessories etc.).

The graphics have aged shockingly well for a 15+ year old game, and I think the stylized look is what keeps it looking alright.

All the realms do get difficult, but considering that you can take quests in the different realms, it makes it easy to gain strength at a reasonable pace to keep up with the difficulty.

I really wanted to play FATE again but Torchlight 2, a game I had wanted to play before because it had a lot of FATE gameplay and mechanics(pets, fishing, the narrator, gems, the inventory and SLIMES!) is so much better and fun.

The audio design complements this approach, with an unobtrusive soundtrack and functional sound effects that reinforce combat and exploration without distracting from the core gameplay loop.
