The puzzles themselves don't put much of a resistance, they are mostly there to move the plot, which is fine, you may or may not prefer that, but it's not a challenging game by any means, sometimes hints literally spoil the puzzle for you.
Always been a fan of you work, this is probably your best game by a small margin, even though I think going hard into dark comedy isn't as compelling as what you did in the past, but taking into consideration the scope of the visuals and animations, I would argue it's a little better than "A safe place".
Perhaps you focused a bit too much on making the player read the story, instead of having more exploration gameplay, if you did more achievements like looking for the bus driver, maybe you could have balanced it out, generally I think people like those interactive elements, and you had some, just not as many.
Sound design also plays a significant role in establishing the mood.
