What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The writing, prose, character development, plot, and story is so great, so far - it's like reading a great book.
While I recommend Returns first to get into Shadowrun from both gameplay and setting perspective, playing it isn't a requirement to start Dragonfall as stories are not connected.
The soundtrack is also very memorable, albeit maybe a little too repetitive at times.
Worth mentioning what Director's Cut brings to the table. 5 new missions, alternate endings, new music, redesigned interface, improved visuals, additional items like weapons or spells, revamped combat (added armor mechanic to covers, increased significance of flanking) and more!
Only thing I think really lowers the quality is not being able to remap keybinds which is like a pretty basic thing to have.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
