Although the overall quality of both is pretty compressed and dated by modern standards, the music and sound design is another clear improvement over the first game.

I personally prefer this over the first game because not only does it give the gameplay more variety thanks to the different types of vehicles, but also progressing from beat-up junkyard scrap-buckets to sleek, street-tuned sports cars gives the whole career mode a much more satisfying "grind to glory" kind of vibe.

Multiplayer adds extra fun as friends crash and fly in spectacular ways.

The carnage is there in both career and multiplayer, the graphics are vibrant and still stand to this day while running very good.

Crashes feel brutal in a satisfying way, and the physics-heavy handling keeps races interesting.

This is such a fun game to play with friends not sure if you would get the same fun playing with only randoms but we make our games public since small online community is really chill and it definitely is more fun with more people.
