Updating my review after having cleared the campaign in full, from a careful recommend midway through to a soft recommend against.
There are a good bit of issues, pretty much all gameplay related.
It has a great aesthetic, an interesting theme, and a surprisingly striking soundtrack that isn't afraid to be heard.
Even if the game isn't on a technical level very impressive, it gets hard-carried by its art design, and honestly I like it over brute-forcing pretty graphics through realism.
Game runs pretty well (decent optimization), has some areas that are downright gorgeous to look at.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
