A great little parkour game with cool visuals and a sweet non-verbal story.

the game perfectly recreates that authentic video game feel with simple old style textures and fun mechanics, a great non-intrusive soundtrack, and smooth level and story progression. it gives its characters a soul and a nice flavor despite the zero narration and zero corporate bloat. this is exactly what video games should be.

Sound design deepens this effect—the echoes of mechanical clanks, distant drones, and the subtle scrape of your staff all help sell the illusion of a massive hollow space.

Hypogea doesn’t rely on difficulty to hold your attention instead, it keeps you invested through atmosphere, pacing, and the desire to uncover the mystery surrounding its characters.

While it does admittedly look a little wonky, it also makes movement a lot more satisfying and saves the player from a lot of frustration that overly tight hitboxes could've caused.
