The game offers campaign mode, scenarios, a sandbox, and a custom map created by the community, which are all very typical of Firefly Studio.
I hate comparing games to one another, but since my current favorite "space colony" game is "space colony," (good job, Firefly taking a genre name as an IP), and my most favorite game is "space haven" (check the link if you are interested), which both have similar gameplay but differ in most presentations.
For a semi-realistic photo asset put into a 2D environment, I'd call it a classic rather than a pixel classic, since today's games are all about pixelated graphics, which I don't know why many developers love to use since it takes more time and resources to use pixel assets than 3D ones.
The best part is the voice acting, as the quirks of each character bring out light comedy to keep you entertained for hours.
The difficulty and replayability is there because while you might learn the game it will never be repetitive.
