GemCraft - Chasing Shadows

Difficulty progression is pretty good, though I initially hit a brick wall at H1.

Additionally, the modular difficulty system allows extremely fine tuning of the game's challenge while introducing higher and higher reward quality at each difficulty level.

Not much can be said about the graphics but that everything is detailed quite nicely, the effects being absolutely wonderful and the way the vivid colours combine when mixing a gem with another of a different colour is overly pleasing.

The soundtrack gives an eerie feeling when playing, driving you to think of how deeply horrifying the story is, fitting exactly to the theme.

The art direction favors function over flourish, but the dark, moody visuals and ambient soundtrack reinforce the grim world in which the game takes place.
