Dark Scavenger plays like a fully-illustrated 'choose your own adventure' game based on the 'choices matter' principle with old school turn-based RPG-like combat and even a loot system, so it does seem to be an RPG at its core.

The graphics are static images, but look quite nice (I don't think the screenshots in Steam did them justice) and despite the simplistic nature of it all Dark Scavenger manages to create a game you'll never forget.
