What players think
The recurring themes across 118 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Tight controls, excellent gameplay, good soundtrack and great graphics make this one a keeper.
This game has some of the greatest 2D graphics I have ever seen, vibrant saturated colors, a great mix of detailed sprites with a chunky look, pseudo-3D effects for enemies and projectiles entering the screen perpendicularly to your ship, lots of layered effects to simulate lighting, warp speed and smoke effects (especially on the first, third and final stage), it's just a treat to behold and the presentation never overstays its welcome or bores the player in between gameplay.
Awesome soundtrack, wicked explosions, screen filling bosses, perfect difficulty, and a decent unlock and progression system that gives you some fun extra content to purchase and unlock (and of course you can buy extra credits if you're like me and suck at these games).

Enemy encounters, boss fights, even the ending, and credits were handled with style, creativity and care.
There's a lot of extra menu artwork, concept art, sound test items in the shop, and you can buy continues here if you wish.
