The original game was astounding for its level of detail and realism, and the sharper resolution and reflections/lighting in this remake only improve it.
Those games were optimized for fundamentally 2D gameplay, using non-proportionate balls and playfields and hand-tuned pixel art made to fit the screens of the time.
Everything has been lovingly recreated, including the operator's menu and the startup light tests.
The game is gorgeous, the lighting immersive, it's sound effects are satisfying, it's soundtrack memorable and catchy, the callouts quotable.
The table itself is quite challenging - on one hand you will get overwhelmed by all the frenzy and multiball modes, the (video) challenges and story missions, on the other hand you will get accustomed to what is important and what is not quickly.
Ever since the original pro pinball timeshock came out around 20 years ago it was clear to me that this was an exceptionally designed game in every way.The fact that now,with updated graphics,controller support (no input lag finally!)
