First I'd like to say I like a lot about this game, for something that seems so simple the characters all do play fairly differently.
The nostalgic aesthetic is complemented by energetic music and impactful sound effects that enhance the intensity of combat and reinforce the feeling of being surrounded by overwhelming odds.
As a more general addendum, if you end up playing it on the Steam Deck, be careful when hitting the shoulder buttons.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 5 sampled reviews and are not shown.
