Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo

If you played Mina the Hollower and wished it had more lock-and-key Zelda-style item progression, this game is for you.

The game has some neat difficult settings as well, mostly related to combat, but i'd like to point to the "extra badge points" and "coins lost at death" options, keep an eye on them, because they can help a lot and even make the game more fun.

Together, the visuals and music give the adventure an energetic identity that suits both its humorous narrative and fast-moving mechanics.

There's also several difficulty/accessibility options to lessen some of these pain points if that's your jam.

Technically, this is a very well-made game, with lots of variety across its different sectors, excellent visuals (even some of the furry people are fun to look at, though I still have no clue what kind of animal the main character and his family are supposed to be based on), and lots of different mechanics suited to the top-down view gameplay.

The soundtrack strengthens that nostalgic atmosphere, with renowned composer Yoko Shimomura appearing as a guest contributor.
