That being said, the worldbuilding is fantastic, the characters are incredibly memorable, and as someone from South America, seeing a game so heavily inspired by Latin America and its history was honestly surreal.

While it sounds incredibly punishing, XP and skill points flow generously enough that it doesn't feel entirely unfair, especially since it opens up the exert system.

While I still occasionally run into moments where the voice acting cuts out, the technical issues have become significantly less frequent.

The characters, the worldbuilding, the art style, I loved every aspect of the experience.

Character creation offers a great spin on the formula by letting you allocate points into three main attributes to establish your baseline skill levels, but if you build a custom character, you can choose to downgrade specific skills to reallocate those points elsewhere within the same category.

I’ve been playing on the Steam Deck, and while the actual performance and frame rate feel smooth, the entire experience is bogged down by this lack of polish.
