What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
It embraces silliness, unpredictability, and pure fun, and in doing so, it creates one of the most enjoyable multiplayer experiences ever made.
Each map is designed to be more than just a background—it is an active part of the gameplay.
Characters move like wobbly rubber toys, making every punch, grab, and throw unpredictable.
if you wish to play with controller (which is easiest) you will need to do a specific set of things, so step one is to open the game and then once on the main menu you will use your controller to create a public or local (it doesn't matter) lobby and then you will touch the controller, this will spawn in 2 of you, if not, go through the motions of getting in and then step three, leave the lobby with your keyboard, not the controller, then play the game and have fun. you should note this will only happen to people who are not the host and (to my knowledge) using any type of Xbox controller on windows or Linux and the controls on keyboard are all over the place so again, i highly recommend the controller
Gang Beasts shines in co-op and party settings.
very fun melee and gang are the top for me.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
