What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
I'm not a big fan of the running out of ammo part, and the difficulty curve might be a bit high, but I like the story and the sense of humor.
It also means gameplay is more spontaneous- if you're fast, you can make a lot of situations easier by jumping between ships at the right times.
It's got the same side-scroller point of view, and the pixel art style has a similar feel to it as well.
I really enjoyed the sound effects as well, they mostly sounded like something you'd hear on an 8 bit machine, mixed with some sounds that I swear sounded like they came right from an Atari 2600.
I played with a gamepad, and didn't have any issues with the controls at all.
Overall I would only recommend for some co-op fun with friends, but don't expect to actually complete the game (without tearing your hair out).

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No themes split opinion in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
