What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
While the procedural elements and deck options extend its lifespan, the overall structure is compact, and players who crave extensive meta-progression or a wide array of game-altering unlocks may reach the end of Necroking’s offerings sooner than expected.
While the visuals stop short of the polish seen in some of the genre’s flashier titles, the style remains cohesive and effective throughout.
I also loved the tailored sound design of the units.
Various boss fights and numerous rewards are divided out pretty readily so even on higher difficulties it made for an excellent pick up and play game at any time on my Steam Deck, I highly recommend giving it a play like that.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
