What players think
The recurring themes across 123 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
A major highlight is the dual-layer narrative that alternates between the fictional horror game and the protagonist's unsettling reality.
The game also makes good use of lighting, both for atmosphere and as a mechanic (was surprised that I didn't dislike the UV sections).
The mechanics are sound, controls feel responsive and satisfying in combat, and the story leaves just enough to speculation.
Detailed environments, moody lighting, and carefully crafted sound design work together to create a persistent feeling of unease.
The sound design and atmosphere are very good and I was thoroughly surprised by the way the story hooked me; it was it's own incentive to keep playing.
What really won me over was the well-balanced difficulty level, the stylish visuals, and, above all, the atmosphere.
