What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
High replayability and a long full platinum to get.
Fun PvP mode(s) truly testing your skill (I only checked Kingmaker as of now)
Though it has a retro art style, under the surface is a pretty deep game of exploration, creating a build, and running that build into a series of bosses to see how it performs.
Instead of adding a second map (which is cool for the story and has a nice mechanic switch to it), I would have liked more to do per map.
My true play-time is likely in the 300-400 hour range, however, my Steam Deck does not appear to record it correctly (possibly because I often leave the game running while I put my Steam deck to sleep and pick it up and play at my convenience).
The game is enjoyable and challenging, has lots of content, the visual and audio design is striking and memorable, and manages both simplicity and strategic depth.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
