What players think
The recurring themes across 48 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Set against the backdrop of Altona, a quaint town perilously perched on the rim of an enigmatic chasm known as the Abyss, the game combines elements of adventure, crafting, and a slice-of-life narrative with a dash of mature content that enriches the storytelling experience.
Practically a beginning of story that lets you see the desperation of the protagonist and justify the actions that will take some moral actions later, the story also presents a plot in the guild of alchemists that gives some knot to the story and makes it's more entertaining to read as it has a certain comic touch, even though the story only serves as a path or guide to the really important gameplay.
The visuals don't disappoint either, as they feature vivid and highly polished character profiles and still shots, eye-catching sprites, and nicely animated pixel art defeat scenes.
One potential area for refinement could be to streamline the alchemy interface and enhance the tutorials, making them more intuitive to assist players in mastering the system without feeling overwhelmed.
In terms of sound, the game also does a good job, as it has a variety of background music, sound effects, and even a certain amount of voice acting with some of the phrases the heroine says at certain moments, adding that extra personality to the heroine.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway.
